God's Gift List, Part 2

From prison and trial they led him away to his death.  But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins—that he was suffering their punishment? Isaiah 53: 8

As you look at the manger scenes and listen to the carols today, remember why Jesus came.  Jesus was born to live a blameless life so that he could lay it down in exchange for every thing you ever did that keeps you from God.  Maybe you have known the Lord for years, or you are wondering where you stand with him. Perhaps you have asked for forgiveness again and again, yet you still feel guilty.  You are why Jesus came to earth.  You are enough of a reason for him to come.             What stands between you and God today?  Pain?  Guilt?  Shame?  Let this year's celebration of his first coming be a renewal of his coming into your heart in a fresh way.  Or, let him come in for the first time.  He’s knocking on your door; it’s up to you to let him in.             Don’t let busyness get between God and you today, either.  Maybe you have family commitments--or your family should be committed!             Whatever is going on, make time for our loving Father, the powerful designer and creator of the universe. He loves you so much that he gave his precious Son so you could be with him for eternity.  Take some time to remember that this week.
